Job Description

Purpose: This leadership role is responsible for defining the strategic technical vision and overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the organization's end-to-end data, analytics, and AI platform architecture. The role involves leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and data scientists, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that align with and drive business objectives.

 

Main activities:

  • Define and communicate the technical roadmap and architectural vision for the company's data, analytics, and AI platforms.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure system architectures leveraging cloud services and modern technologies.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team (data engineers, analytics engineers, BI developers, data scientists, DataOps).
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data, analytics, and AI projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timelines.
  • Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and governance for system design, data management, security, and operations (including DevOps/DataOps/MLOps principles within the team).
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical strategies and solutions.
  • Manage team resources, budgets, and vendor relationships related to the data, analytics, and AI platforms.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data, analytics, AI, and cloud computing, driving innovation within the team and platform.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
  • Budget management for team, tools, and platform infrastructure.
  • High strategic impact on the organization's ability to leverage data and AI for decision-making, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage. Shapes the core technology foundation for data-driven initiatives.

 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, software architecture, or analytics, including significant hands-on experience with AI/ML projects.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or management role, overseeing technical teams.
  • Deep understanding and practical experience with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), data warehousing, data lakehouse, big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka), database systems (SQL/NoSQL), ML frameworks, and system integration patterns.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering complex, large-scale data and AI systems.
  • Expertise in system architecture design principles (e.g., distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture).

  • Deep knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL/ELT processes.

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and deployment strategies.

  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).

  • Extensive experience with cloud data services and infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps concepts and their application.

  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

  • Understanding of various analytics and business intelligence tools and techniques.

  • English or French level: fluent
