The Assistant Vice President, Product Development will play a key role in defining, enhancing, and delivering financial and regulatory reporting products across State Street's Investment Services platform.

This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, clients, regulatory subject matter experts, technology teams, and data providers to develop reporting solutions that support evolving regulatory requirements and client reporting needs. The role requires deep understanding of financial data, reporting processes, data governance, and product lifecycle management.

The ideal candidate will combine strong product development expertise with knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting, data management, and large-scale transformation initiatives.

What will you be responsible for

Product Strategy & Roadmap Management

  • Drive product enhancements and strategic initiatives for financial and regulatory reporting platforms.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and business leaders to define product vision, roadmap priorities, and investment strategies.

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting capabilities, operational efficiency, automation, and user experience.

  • Support business case development and prioritization of product enhancements based on regulatory, client, and market demands.

Financial & Regulatory Reporting Expertise

  • Partner with regulatory and business teams to understand evolving reporting requirements and industry regulations.

  • Translate regulatory requirements into functional product capabilities and business requirements.

  • Support development of solutions across:

    • Regulatory Reporting

    • Financial Reporting

    • Fund Reporting

    • Data Disclosure and Transparency Reporting

  • Ensure reporting solutions meet auditability, transparency, and compliance requirements.

Data Product & Data Governance

  • Collaborate with Data Governance, Data Management, and Technology teams to define data sourcing, transformation, and reporting requirements.

  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, lineage, and control of data used within financial and regulatory reporting products.

  • Drive initiatives focused on data quality improvement and reporting automation.

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain requirement documentation, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria, and process flows.

  • Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into actionable development deliverables.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build effective partnerships across Product, Technology, and Operations organizations.

  • Facilitate discussions among diverse stakeholder groups to achieve consensus on product direction and priorities.

  • Present product strategies, roadmap updates, and delivery status.

Delivery & Execution

  • Support Agile delivery processes, including backlog management, sprint planning, testing, release management, and production deployments.

  • Coordinate business validation and user acceptance testing activities.

  • Monitor product adoption, operational performance, and user satisfaction metrics.

  • Support issue resolution and production support activities related to reporting products.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of financial services, investment operations, and reporting ecosystems.

  • Experience with financial reporting, client reporting, or regulatory reporting platforms.

  • Understanding of investment data domains, including:

    • Security Master Data

    • Holdings and Positions

    • Transactions

    • Accounting Data

  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.

  • Proven experience creating business requirements and translating business needs into product solutions.

  • Experience working with enterprise reporting and data platforms.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.

  • 8+ years of experience in Product Development, Business Analysis, Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Data Management, or related financial services functions.

  • Demonstrated success delivering enterprise reporting or data-driven product solutions.

  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional global teams.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience supporting financial and regulatory reporting products within Asset Servicing, Custody, Fund Accounting, or Investment Operations.

  • Familiarity with global reporting and regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience with cloud-based data and reporting platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or other enterprise analytics solutions.

  • Knowledge of reporting automation, data modernization, and AI-enabled reporting capabilities.

  • Experience managing large-scale data transformation or reporting modernization initiatives.

  • Custody and operational background or experience
  • Subject matter knowledge across custody capabilities (Corporate Actions, Income, SWIFT, Settlements, Tax, Corporate Governance)
