The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come.

Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love.

That’s what makes us Roche.

The Pharma Technical Operations (PT) department is establishing the One PT Data Office to serve as the strategic center for data governance, strategy, and enablement across the entire global PT network. This team is at the heart of our digital transformation, responsible for architecting and leading a central data office to unlock the full potential of PT’s data assets.

We are recruiting Data Steward Leads who will have the opportunity to establish PT’s data stewardship framework and approach to delivering and embedding effective data governance within PT domains. You will serve as the leader for Business Data Stewards for data specifications and quality, ensuring that global data standards are adopted and data owners are established. Your role involves identifying and resolving data constraints and issues, acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Business Data Stewards.

The Opportunity

  • Own, build, manage, and mobilize a network of domain Data Stewards and Data Owners, working closely to implement global data governance policies, standards, and processes as centrally defined.

  • Act as a single point of contact for a specific PT domain (Supply Chain & Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Development, or Manufacturing & CDMO) for data governance challenges and needs.

  • Ensure robust roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities for data stewardship and ownership within the domain and in alignment with broader data domains.

  • Enable the data domain to understand and translate global standards, policies, and frameworks and ensure compliance across the domain.

  • Identify data constraints and issues, such as data integrity problems, and develop strategies for addressing these challenges on applicable source systems.

  • Act as the business process owner within or across the domain, overseeing data governance and ensuring that data practices align with business objectives.

  • Work with Data Stewards to implement metadata management processes and establish data dictionaries, glossaries, and cataloguing tools to facilitate documentation.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 7 - 10+ years of relevant data stewardship experience or similar, with experience in a leadership capacity and working in a complex organization.

  • Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of data management practices and principles, particularly within the context of Pharma Tech Ops or similar industries, with expertise in Supply Chain & Finance, Quality & Regulatory, Development, or Manufacturing & CDMO.

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in data governance standards, policy, flow, and quality; data driven, with the ability to analyze and interrogate data.

  • General Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities to drive data initiatives.
