The Data Solutions Developer role will be responsible for dashboard and report development, technical analysis, testing of data, and supporting current business intelligence applications. The developer will build report visualizations within the analytic framework to support key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. The candidate will work in conjunction with other members from the enterprise data organization (architects, data engineers, data analysts, etc.) on the implementation of such solutions. The Data Solutions Developer works in collaboration with various stakeholders to identify and solve data-related challenges. Their role involves ensuring that the data-related solutions and methodologies implemented are reliable, scalable, and align with the organization and enterprise-wide strategies.
Responsibilities- Support SQL analysis of structured and unstructured datasets to develop metrics, evaluate ETL, and create custom data sources.
- Network with stakeholders to understand user needs and requirements for reporting and visual analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with technology organization teams including Data Engineering, Data Architecture, and data management roles to develop technical requirements and data architecture models to support complex data requirements for both internal and external required data.
- Provide preliminary designs and maintain high performing and complex Business Intelligence Data Sources and semantic layers for ongoing and ad hoc review and analysis of data.
- Support senior team members to develop, test, debug and deploy dashboards, reports, and visual analytical solutions that aid in data storytelling, understanding, and interpretation of trends and patterns of business importance.
- Conduct research to ensure the quality of data and reporting by conducting thorough testing and establishing metrics to monitor performance.
- Perform COE best practice controls and security measures to protect the organization's data and intellectual property.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or in lieu of related degree, at least 4 years of experience in an IT centered Business Intelligence role.
- Experience in a Data Analysis role, including experience with Agile methodologies
- 4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SAP Business Objects, MicroStrategy)
- Exposure in designing complex data sources and semantic layers
- Strong understanding of ETL, Data Architecture, and Dimensional Modeling principles and methodologies
- Understanding of database systems and SQL
- Proficient problem-solving ability and analytical skills
- Experience communicating and collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- ETL/ELT Principles and Methodologies
- BI/Analytics Technologies and Solutions (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SAP Business Objects, MicroStrategy)
- Data Analysis Tools (e.g., SQL)
