The selected Data Solution Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise data products, data pipelines, and analytics solutions utilizing Databricks and cloud-native technologies. Working within an Agile delivery team, this role will build scalable, reliable, and governed data solutions that enable reporting, analytics, operational workloads, and AI/ML use cases across the organization.
The Data Solution Engineer will collaborate closely with architects, product owners, data engineers, and platform teams to implement modern data engineering solutions and reusable components that align with established architectural standards and engineering best practices. This role is expected to be hands-on in the development of data pipelines, data transformations, data models, and platform integrations while contributing to continuous improvements in quality, performance, and automation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency in Databricks, data engineering, and cloud-native development while continuing to expand their expertise in modern lakehouse architecture, data governance, and software engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise data products, data pipelines, and data integration solutions using Databricks and cloud-native technologies.
- Build and maintain Bronze, Silver, and Gold data assets within a lakehouse architecture utilizing Delta Lake, PySpark, Databricks Workflows, Unity Catalog, and serverless compute capabilities.
- Develop scalable and efficient data transformation, validation, and enrichment processes that support analytics, reporting, operational, and AI/ML workloads.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, and observability controls to ensure trusted and reliable data products.
- Develop and maintain data models, business logic, and reusable engineering components in accordance with established architectural standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, testing activities, and CI/CD processes to improve software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, platform, and performance issues while identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Implement and support data governance, security, and access controls utilizing Unity Catalog and other platform-native capabilities.
- Contribute to the automation of deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational support processes.
- Document data solutions, technical designs, operational procedures, and engineering standards to improve knowledge sharing and maintainability.
- Continuously develop technical expertise in data engineering, cloud platforms, Databricks capabilities, and modern software engineering practices.
Position is based in either Sarasota, FL at our home office or in our Southwest Regional office in Richardson, TX and is eligible for our hybrid work schedule (3/2).

The salary range for this position is $92,286-$142,123 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Preferred * Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows. * Experience implementing medallion architecture and lakehouse design patterns. * Experience supporting AI/ML, advanced analytics, or data science workloads. * Experience with data quality, metadata management, and data governance frameworks. * Experience with dbt, streaming technologies, CDC patterns, or event-driven architectures. * MDM Platform Informatica, Lake Fusion, Verato and BI Reporting (Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Sigma) or similar working knowledge and certifications around are preferred * Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience. * Databricks, cloud platform, or data engineering certifications.
