What You Will Do:
The Data/Software Engineer will focus on developing graphical user interfaces and dashboards, deploying and managing applications in an AWS cloud environment, integrating new functionality with established tools through tech transfer initiatives, automating key workflows, and integrating artificial intelligence (Al) and machine learning (ML) models into our workflows. The ideal candidate will be a versatile problem-solver with a strong foundation in software development principles and a passion for building innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain user-friendly GUls and interactive dashboards. Design, deploy, and manage applications and infrastructure in AWS. Integrate new features and functionalities into existing tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows to streamline processes.
- Integrate Al/ML models into existing systems to enhance functionality and improve decision-making. Monitor and optimize automated workflows and Al/ML model performance.
- Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
- Design, develop and modify diverse software systems based upon documented requirements, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
- Write or review software and system documentation.
What You Will Need:
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance with a COUNTERINTELLIGENCE (CI) polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Minimum FIVE (5) years experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- GUI/Dashboard: Proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Angular, or Vue.js). Experience building responsive and accessible web interfaces.
- Solid understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, Lambda, 1AM, API Gateway, DynamoDB/RDS)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Automation/Al: Proficiency in Python scripting for automation. Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Step Functions).
- Basic experience integrating Al/ML models into applications.
- DevOps: Basic understanding of Cl/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud security best practices. Tools: Git, testing frameworks (unit and integration testing).
- Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong analytical skills, and experience with Agile development methodologies
