Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Demonstrate experience working with military or veteran healthcare systems (e.g., DHA, VA), with a deep understanding of healthcare data, regulatory compliance, and mission-driven care delivery.
- Develop interactive, user-friendly dashboards and visualizations in Python, Power BI, and/or Tableau to support real-time healthcare analytics and decision-making.
- Conduct ETL, exploratory data analysis (EDA), data wrangling to develop and present innovative ML algorithms to enhance healthcare system and collaboration.
- Apply ML techniques and time series for predictive analytics to support faster and more accurate healthcare outcomes.
- Design, develop, deploy NLP and AI/ML models incorporating unit testing, performance validation, and post-deployment monitoring to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Work with clinical and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful, data-driven visual solutions.
- Enhance user engagement with dynamic, drill-through capabilities and actionable insights embedded with dashboards.
- Execute thorough quality control procedures to ensure high reliability, data integrity, and optimized performance of ML algorithms and dashboard solutions.
- Produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, technical specifications, and user training materials tailored to AI/ML and dashboard solutions.
- Develop presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint summaries, technical briefs) to support algorithm approval processes and facilitate stakeholder communication.
- Maintain versioned documentation to support compliance, reproducibility, and knowledge transfer across teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, data analytics, statistics, computer science, health policy, public health, or related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in data science, analytics, or statistics with a strong understanding of statistical, probability, and machine learning theory.
- 0-3 years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes across diverse data systems.
- 0-3 years of experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including deployment, data integration, and scalable infrastructure design.
- 0-2 years of experience with healthcare analytics.
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Python and/or SQL, experience with SAS and R
- Dashboard development: Expertise with Tableau
- Version control: Git (Github, GitLab, Bitbucket).
- Experience with AL/ML.
- Proven ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and solve complex business problems using data.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, fostering open communication and problem solving to achieve shared project goals.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated and excels in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess or be eligible for a Secret clearance.
- PhD in data science, data analytics, statistics, computer science, health policy, or public health.
- Familiarity with MDR & M2 databases.
- Experience with NLP techniques.
- Proven ability to synthesize disparate data from multiple sources into accurate and useful analytic products.
- Experience with the Department of Defense or a federal healthcare entity.
- Experience in the private healthcare sector.
