The Role
Description

At UVeye, we are transforming vehicle safety and reliability on a global scale. Since 2016, we’ve pioneered the world’s first fully automated vehicle inspection systems- powered by AI, machine learning, and computer vision.

With close to $400M in funding and strategic partnerships with industry giants such as Amazon, General Motors, Volvo, and CarMax, UVeye stands at the forefront of automotive technological advancement. Our growing global team of over 200 employees is committed to creating a workplace that celebrates diversity and encourages teamwork. Our drive for innovation and pursuit of excellence are deeply embedded in our vibrant company culture, ensuring that each individual's efforts are recognized and valued as we unite to build a safer automotive world.

We are looking for a seasoned and impact-driven Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will extract actionable insights from product usage, customer behavior, and system telemetry, and work closely with R&D teams to analyze the behavior and performance of our web platform and AI models in the field.

A Day in the Life & How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • You will act as a bridge between product, customer, and technical teams, using data to illuminate how the system is being used, how the AI is performing, and where improvement opportunities exist.
  • Lead product analytics, identifying bottlenecks in the inspection flow, feature adoption trends, and operational KPIs across customer sites.
  • Perform deep dives into customer behavior, combining structured product usage data with customer support signals, NPS, and segmentation to drive retention and satisfaction.
  • Analyze AI model outputs and edge-device telemetry to detect performance issues, drift, false positives/negatives, and rare failure patterns in the field.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to define measurable benchmarks for model accuracy, inference time, and edge reliability.
  • Monitor system-level telemetry for anomalies and degradations that impact customer experience- such as slow scan durations, poor image quality, or inconsistent classification outcomes.
  • Build and own dashboards and alerting systems to track inspection quality, model health, and customer-facing impact.
  • Design and evaluate A/B tests and experiments to measure product and algorithmic changes on real-world usage.
  • Contribute to root cause analyses when errors or escalations occur, bringing a data-driven perspective to support resolution and product learning loops.

Requirements
  • M.Sc. in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; OR B.Sc. in a relevant field with equivalent hands-on experience in data science, product analytics, or applied AI
  • A proven ability to deliver exceptional results through self-driven projects, portfolio work, or creative problem-solving. We’re open to “superstars” with no formal experience but outstanding potential.
  • Strong skills in SQL and Python (Pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, scikit-learn); experience analyzing ML logs or model performance is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, GCP, Elasticsearch, or Redis.
  • Understanding of ML evaluation techniques, system diagnostics, and experimentation.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to tell stories with data and influence decisions across technical and business teams.

Why UVeye:

Pioneer Advanced Solutions: Harness cutting-edge technologies in AI, machine learning, and computer vision to revolutionize vehicle inspections.

Drive Global Impact: Your innovations will play a crucial role in enhancing automotive safety and reliability, impacting lives and businesses on an international scale.

Career Growth Opportunities: Participate in a journey of rapid development, surrounded by groundbreaking advancements and strategic industry partnerships.

What We Do

UVeye is a computer vision tech company that develops automated inspection systems for vehicles, powered by artificial intelligence and proprietary hardware.

Founded in 2016 by Amir and Ohad Hever, our systems have been installed at 100+ sites, including vehicle manufacturers, dealerships, fleet companies, logistical centers, energy, financial, diplomatic, and other sensitive security facilities.

In 2019, Toyota Tsusho and Volvo headlined a $31M Series B, joining W.R. Berkley and F.I.T Ventures. In 2021, UVeye secured its Series C round from strategic investors like CarMax and Hyundai Motors, bringing UVeye to a grand total of over $90M in investment capital.

As of March 2022, Volvo announced an expansion to their partnership with a long-term program aiming to install UVeye devices in all of its North American dealerships.

Each day we are making an impact with technology by harnessing the power of AI to detect vehicle issues or security-related threats in the undercarriage before they cause fatalities. Our mission, every day, is to raise the standard of vehicle inspections to help create better mobility and safer roads.
