As a Data Scientist in our Armenia office, you will be responsible for the following:
- Design and implement statistical and machine learning models to generate actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with management, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand client data requirements, and deliver data solutions that drive measurable impact.
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes from various APIs using tools like Airflow and dbt to orchestrate and manage data workflows.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data sources and systems.
- Perform data modeling, schema design, and database management.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability issues.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data science and data engineering to recommend improvements to existing systems.
To be successful, these are the skills, qualities and experience you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in data science, data engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Strong proficiency in Python and core data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, matplotlib/seaborn).
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with data orchestration and transformation tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt).
- Significant experience building ETL/ELT pipelines from various data sources into a centralized database or data warehouse.
- Experience working with APIs to access and extract structured data.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms, and their appropriate use cases.
- Experience designing, training, and evaluating supervised and unsupervised ML models.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with big data processing and streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
