Data Scientist

ImpactAs our Data Scientist you will develop Data Science and Machine Learning solutions to ensure Shipt’s customers receive on-time and high quality deliveries.  Every day you will work on a team of multiple Data Scientists to build forecast, probability, and predictive models in the availability engine.  You will develop and continuously improve machine learning models, analyze the performance of the models, and experiment with different delivery promise solutions using Python, SQL, and Tableau.

• MS of PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields 

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist building models that help optimize business decisions

• You have expertise in experimentation and general statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, causal inference, study design, and knowledge of how to leverage these skills to solve complex business problems.

• You are able to build ML models and end-to end deployment with optimization frameworks. 

• You have experience with a statistical scripting language (e.g., R, Python), a database query language (SQL, BigQuery, etc.), and version control systems

• You understand shopper/customer pay models, dynamic delivery window, micro-economics, and market dynamics 

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.  Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Employees will also be eligible to receive discretionary vacation for exempt team members, paid holidays throughout the calendar year and paid sick leave.  Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay Range:

$83,300-$166,800

All other locations:

$73,900-$147,900

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
