About the Role:
Hello Heart is looking for a Data Scientist to join our expanding data group. As part of our Data Science team, you will tackle complex challenges, from research to production. You will develop novel and innovative machine learning models to address one of the world's most significant clinical issues: cardiovascular disease. Your work will directly contribute to improving healthcare practices and enhancing the well-being of individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of Predictive Modeling Projects: Design, implement, train, and monitor machine learning models, ensuring they are production-ready.
- Research and Experimentation: Investigate and experiment with machine learning, optimization, and statistical algorithms to solve real-world problems that have a meaningful impact on healthcare.
- Collaboration with Product Teams: Translate clinical research findings into actionable digital insights and work closely with product managers and developers to integrate solutions into existing systems.
- Code Implementation: Write efficient, maintainable code for algorithms and models, focusing on practical application and performance optimization.
- Agile Innovation: Quickly turn ideas into prototypes and solutions in a dynamic, research-oriented environment.
Required Skills:
- Machine Learning Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing and implementing algorithms and machine learning models using Python in production.
- Industry Experience: Proven ability to design, write and maintain clean and efficient production code for machine learning algorithms.
- SQL Proficiency: Strong knowledge of SQL for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis is essential.
- Data Mining and Statistical Techniques: Expertise in algorithms including clustering, classification, regression, decision trees, neural nets, support vector machines, genetic algorithms, and anomaly detection.
- Educational Background: A BSc in a relevant field (Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Neuroscience, Physics, Econometrics) is required; MSc or PhD is an advantage.
Dynamic Team Player: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple ongoing projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing recommendation systems in production environments.
- Knowledge of generative AI and natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
- Experience in Deep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
