Data Scientist
Location: Netherlands (Delft) Or Spain (Madrid)
Our Global Data Science Team is primarily responsible for applying smart usage of data, Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, and upcoming Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to solve present challenges in the cybersecurity domain.
The teams’ work focuses on three pillars within our Managed SOC services:
- enhancing detection capabilities of adversarial behavior in our customer’s networks
- increasing automation of incident handling and workflows to assist our Security Analysts
- continuously quantifying, reporting, and improving on the quality of our service.
Our Managed SOC services deploy different technologies (e.g. Network detection, endpoint detection and SIEMs) which generate a vast amount of data on our customer’s network and cloud environments. The Data Scientist we are looking for is thrilled to apply their knowledge on this data to turn it into high-quality, actionable information for our SOC and customers.
Members of the Data Science Team work closely together with experts in different fields ranging from digital forensics experts, network analysts and threat intelligence analysts. While affinity with one or more of these fields is a big plus, there is ample opportunity to learn the necessary cybersecurity knowledge on the job!
Since the teams’ work is diverse, we are looking for candidates with a wide range of backgrounds. The exact responsibilities of any candidate can be tailored given their experience and skillset. However, the position will require candidates to be able to translate their ideas into (preferably) code so that they can be tested early in development. Therefore, familiarity with basic software development principles is essential.
Key accountabilities:
· Leverage Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence techniques to create high-quality detection models for detection of anomalous behavior on analytical data provided by our advanced sensors.
· Devise and (help) create smart improvements on our operations.
· Devise, measure, and interpret performance metrics of e.g. algorithm performance or quality of our overall service so that we make our quality measurable to our customers and our own team.
· Keep current with new developments in ML and AI (including Large Language Models) and their applicability on use cases within our Managed Services technology stack.
Desired Requirements:
· A bachelor’s degree in Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or a related field
· A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
· Experience with or willingness to learn Python and different Machine Learning toolkits.
· Experience with or willingness to learn version control (Git, Azure Dev Ops, etc.)
· Experience with at least one of the following: an NDR product, an EDR product or a SIEM is an advantage.
· Experience with applying ML/AI knowledge specifically within the cybersecurity domain is an advantage.
