SimCorp is an independent subsidiary of the Deutsche Börse Group. Following the recent merger with Axioma, we leverage the combined strength of our brands to provide an industry-leading, full, front-to-back offering for our clients. SimCorp is an equal-opportunity employer. We are committed to building a culture where diverse perspectives and expertise are integrated into our everyday work. We believe in the continual growth and development of our employees, so that we can provide best-in-class solutions to our clients.
Why this role is important to us
SimCorp is the world’s leading provider of integrated investment management solutions to international financial institutions. Our clients include 300+ of the world’s leading asset managers, fund managers, asset servicers, pension and insurance funds, wealth managers, central banks, and sovereign wealth funds.
The Customer & Commercial Insights team uses corporate data to build internally used data products for the entire company. We deliver, deploy, and maintain a plethora of vital data products such as dashboards, predictive models, web apps, and ad-hoc analyses that are used by all parts of the organization. This helps our colleagues to increase their productivity and thus our customers’ satisfaction, as well as to make better decisions that increase our revenue. Most importantly, we are involved in the entire life cycle of the data product and don’t hand over Proof of Concepts. We develop and deploy all our solutions inhouse, collaborating with several stakeholders within the organization.
We are a growing team that looks to scale its services across the organization, especially in the area of AI. For this, we are in search of a Data Scientist who can facilitate the scaling of our capabilities within the company. You will work with state-of-the-art cloud technology: no maintenance of legacy systems. We look for a bold and pragmatic problem solver with a high enterprising spirit. You will work in an agile and international team which delivers value to the business with much curiosity and fun.
What you will be responsible for:
-
Evaluate, in close collaboration with our business stakeholders, business problems and identify potential data and/or statistics-based solutions.
-
Work with our data engineers when sourcing the data, representing our internal stakeholders.
-
Given a wide selection of corporate data, you will either train supervised or unsupervised models yourself or you will identify and evaluate pretrained models for a given use case.
-
Act as a subject matter expert on predictive & generative modeling for the entire team.
-
Collaborate with our data engineers and full stack developers during the deployment of your solutions.
What we value (our requirements):
-
2+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or other quantitative field.
-
Great communicator with fluency in English and capable of explaining complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner.
-
Must have a very strong business/commercial acumen and a problem solver mentality.
-
Eager self-learner with up-to-date knowledge of industry best-practices.
-
Very good knowledge of linear modelling, tree based models, neural networks, and Python.
-
Good knowledge of linear algebra, scikit-learn, tensorflow / PyTorch, and generative AI (especially LLMs).
-
Basic knowledge of MLflow.
-
Additional knowledge of this is beneficial: Apache Spark, Delta Lake, optimization, Power BI.
-
Experience/Knowledge in the investment management industry would be beneficial.
