Data Scientist

The Bank of Georgia is looking for a qualified Data Scientist to join our Data Analytics Department.

You will work in a multidisciplinary, friendly team that is focused on professional development and creating real value. On a daily basis, you will process and analyze large-scale data, and with your analytical products, you will directly contribute to improving the banking services for up to two million customers. Your role will also involve developing LLM-based solutions and integrating them into our products and internal systems. Main Functions of the Position:

• Data collection and pre-processing;

• Creation, optimization, evaluation, and validation of machine learning models;

• Deployment and monitoring of real-time and batch models;

• Optimization of modeling and implementation processes;

• Collaboration with the business, understanding its needs and values for cost-benefit analysis.

Work Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of work experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field;

• Strong experience in data manipulation and modeling using Python and its libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn);

• Experience with big data technologies, particularly Spark;

• Proficiency with Oracle/MS SQL databases;

• Experience with the following is considered an advantage:

  • Workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow;

  • Modern NLP techniques, including RAG/LLM;

  • Git, Bash Scripting, and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch).

Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field;

• Solid understanding of data management fundamentals and data storage principles;

• Knowledge of MLOps practices, including model versioning, deployment, and monitoring;

• Ability to prepare and present clear reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders;

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines;

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
