Position Summary
The Provider Selection team works closely with business partners to develop the underlying algorithms that help evaluate performance for healthcare providers using Quality and Cost Effectiveness measures. A data scientist on this team participates in the development, validation and delivery of algorithms, statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and reporting tools.
What you will do
On a daily basis, a data scientist on the Provider Selection team:

Develops, validates and executes algorithms and predictive models to investigate healthcare data problems, detect patterns and recommend solutions.

Explores, examines and interprets large volumes of structured and unstructured data in various forms.

Implements advanced statistical techniques to analyze data and solve moderately complex business problems.

Develops data pipelines to collect, organize, and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses business reporting needs.

Uses data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results and support business decisions.

Assesses and evaluates data requirements assigned projects and assures the integrity of the data.

Explores existing data and recommends additional sources of data for improvements.

Documents projects including business objectives, analytical-based decisions, and detailed set of results.

Works with and has extensive experience with SQL, Python, Spark, Command line tools & Cloud computing (AWS, GCP, MS Azure).

Has working knowledge and demonstrated interest in Healthcare domain data.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year experience as a Data Scientist building Machine Learning models
- 1+ year experience with SQL
- 1+ year experience with Python and Spark
- 1+ year experience working in a Cloud Environment (preferably GCP)
- 6+ months experience in Healthcare Industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with GCP
- Consulting background with strong problem-solving experience
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into analytical solutions
- Experience collaborating across business domains and explain analytical results to non-technical end users
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline required.
- Master's degree preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$86,520.00 - $173,040.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
