Job Description
Ameriprise Financial has an opportunity for a Data Scientist Manager to join the team supporting Client and Advisor Analytics. In this role, you will serve as an individual contributor, playing an integral role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions that drive meaningful business impact. This position operates as a technical leader and trusted partner to business teams, owning complex problems end to end from solution design through production deployment and translating these solutions into actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement AI solutions leveraging statistical analysis, forecasting, and machine learning techniques.
Design, build, and evaluate predictive and ad hoc analysis to address complex, real‑world business problems.
Translate ambiguous business problems into analytical and AI approaches.
Build and deploy Generative AI solutions that increase efficiency, provide proactive insights, and drive business value.
With support from senior leader, own the full lifecycle of data science and AI solutions from problem framing to data exploration and feature engineering, to model development and validation, to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
Communicate complex analytic solutions to business partners, including actionable insights and recommendations.
Partner closely with engineering and platform teams to ensure models and AI systems are production‑ready, scalable, and reliable.
Work cross-functionally to develop, standardize and automate solutions and best practices.
Ensure adherence to data and model governance standards that are set and enforced by industry standards and/or enterprise and business unit data governance polices and leaders.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in quantitative discipline (i.e., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or a related field).
3-5 years of relevant experience delivering advanced analytics, machine learning, or applied AI solutions.
Strong foundation in statistics, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
Proven experience with modern data science tools, data visualization tools, and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, ML frameworks).
Experience working in cloud‑based platforms, preferrable AWS or Snowflake.
Proven ability to independently own complex problems and deliver production‑ready solutions.
Proven ability to present/communicate complex, technical materials in a way that facilitates decision making and drives outcomes; ability to communicate to less technical partners.
Proven ability to apply both strategic and analytic techniques to provide business solutions and recommendations.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building solutions using LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG, and knowledge graphs.
Familiarity with MLOps practices, CI/CD for models, and production monitoring.
Experience using large-scale data sets.
Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated industries.

In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders — clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $107,000- $147,100/year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
