Job Description
Position Purpose
CHEP LATAM is seeking a Data Scientist to assist with continued development and implementation of data-driven optimization strategy for the region. The Data Scientist will work cross-functionally with teams across LATAM to develop automated advanced tools leveraging advanced data analytics techniques (algorithms to predict indicators evolution, diagnose issues and optimize current processes). The scientist will be working with large sets of structured and unstructured data (internal and external) to perform analysis, develop tools and provide actionable insights.
Major/Key Accountabilities
- Learn about current data available and propose new data sources to current situation.
- Create optimization models based on business drivers to support LATAM strategy.
- Responsible for developing new organisational capabilities aimed at proactively monitoring the external environment, using this information to assess implications and strategic options for our business, and recommending appropriate competitive and commercial strategies.
- Evaluate how to use data to extract key trends, predict key indicators and identify business opportunities/risks. Merge this information with CHEP specific business knowledge and develop actionable business insights in line with regional strategy.
- Support improvement initiatives & projects.
- Work closely with all internal stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements in visual dashboards using Power BI.
- Ensure best practices implementation in order to improve service to business stakeholders.
- Propose enhancements on new/current reports (standardization, usability, workload).
- Automate tools in order to provide output in a timely manner.
- Support BI team in current processes: automation, development, reporting.
Qualifications
- Technology related degree and/or a minimum of 4 years working experience in a similar role.
Experience
- Previous reporting/business intelligence experience.
- Worked with measures and KPIs.
- Working on remote teams.
- Proved experience with Project Management (manage priorities, standardization, automation, troubleshooting and long-term planning).
- Experience with process automation and workload reduction.
- Experience implementing new software from scratch.
- Experience with change management.
- Experience with software development (programming).
- Databases knowledge (SQL).
- Experience working with commercial BI tools (desirable Power BI).
- Python skills.
- Experience deploying projects using machine learning.
- Proficient using Microsoft tools: Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, Visio.
