Job Summary

We are looking for a results-driven Data Scientist to join our high-impact team focused on transforming the insurance and home services industries. You will play a key role in leveraging Porch’s unique property data to drive innovation, improve risk estimation, optimize underwriting, and deliver a compelling product for customers and agents. What You Will Do As A Data Scientist

• Model Development: Build and deploy advanced predictive models that support risk estimation, underwriting, and/or customer and agent satisfaction. 

• Data Exploration & Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover insights that inform strategic decisions across the business. 

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to scope projects and integrate data science solutions into operational workflows. 

• Innovation & Impact: Contribute to a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, stay up to date on new technologies and innovation, and identify new opportunities to apply data science for competitive advantage. 

What You Will Bring As A Data Scientist

• 8+ years’ professional experience, including 5+ years of experience in data science 

• Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights 

• Experience building, deploying, and testing predictive models in high traffic environments 

• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data wrangling 

• Proficiency in Python and R, along with strong SQL skills 

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, GCP) 

• Experience in property insurance  

• Exposure to experimentation frameworks and causal inference methods 

• Experience with code versioning, documentation, and project management tools such as Git, Wikis/Confluence, and Jira/Rally, etc. 
• Proven experience working with US based business teams   
• Excellent written and communication skills in English language.
• Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap.
• Working Hours: 8 Hours (Excluding breaks)  
  4 Core US Hours Overlap (7:30pm- 11:30pm IST)  
  4 flexible hours (IST)    
• Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member 

Pay Range*: 2,775,000 INR- 3,885,000 INR Annually

*Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.
