Let's build a world where data and AI turn possibilities into reality.
The Role

Build the future of the AI Data Cloud. Join the Snowflake team.

We’re at the forefront of the data revolution, committed to building the world’s greatest data and applications platform. Our ‘get it done’ culture allows everyone at Snowflake to have an equal opportunity to innovate on new ideas, create work with a lasting impact, and excel in a culture of collaboration.

There is only one Data Cloud. Snowflake’s founders started from scratch and designed a data platform built for the cloud that is effective, affordable, and accessible to all data users. But it didn’t stop there. They engineered Snowflake to power the Data Cloud, where thousands of organizations unlock the value of their data with near-unlimited scale, concurrency, and performance. This is our vision: a world with endless insights to tackle the challenges and opportunities of today and reveal the possibilities of tomorrow.

We are looking for talented candidates who can push the boundaries of our existing models and help us to design new state-of-the-art solutions to GTM data science problems that we can share with customers and partners. If you are passionate about using data science to solve real world problems and looking for a role that values your creativity and insights, we have a unique opportunity for you.

AS A DATA SCIENTIST AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

  • Collaborate with a team of high-performing analytics and data science professionals to identify business opportunities, and develop algorithms and methodologies to address them

  • Drive technical advances in Snowflake’s GTM machine learning models

  • Develop novel approaches to explain machine learning predictions to stakeholders in Sales and Marketing

  • Process large amounts of data focused on solving business problems with Snowflake that can be shared with our customers and partners

  • Design research projects that apply valid scientific techniques, and use information obtained from baselines or historical data to structure uncompromised and efficient analyses

  • Examine theories, such as those of probability and inference, to discover mathematical bases for new or improved methods of obtaining and evaluating numerical data

  • Develop software applications or programming for statistical modeling and graphic analysis

  • Present statistical and nonstatistical results in meetings or conferences to internal stakeholders and Snowflake’s customers

  • Prepare and structure data in Snowflake for statistical analysis

  • Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods

  • Act as “customer zero” for Snowflake so we can continue to evolve an even more powerful, intuitive Snowflake product and demonstrations of our internal Snowflake on Snowflake utilization.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • BS/MS in quantitative discipline (Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, or CS)

  • 3+ years of experience with Python, including scikit-learn, numpy, and pandas

  • 3+ years experience working with SQL and relational data in data warehouses

  • Experience with Airflow & dbt

  • Familiarity with Data Science algorithms and MLOps to build and deploy end-to-end AL/ML products in production

  • Willing to learn and use Snowflake product features, including Snowpark, Streamlit

  • Excellent communication skills to summarize insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication

  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. That means being flexible and willing to jump in and do whatever it takes to be successful

Every Snowflake employee is expected to follow the company’s confidentiality and security standards for handling sensitive data. Snowflake employees must abide by the company’s data security plan as an essential part of their duties. It is every employee's duty to keep customer information secure and confidential.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
