The Data Scientist Data Product Owner is responsible for overseeing data science initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and defining technical requirements to support business data needs. This role combines advanced analytics expertise with project management and stakeholder engagement to deliver actionable insights and scalable data solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with Product Owners, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Tech Leads to identify and secure data required for personalization product capabilities and advanced analytics outcomes, including customer insights and enhanced offer engagement.
- Develop analyst friendly data products that provide easily accessible business insights
- Deep dive into data with strong desire to understand “why” and drive increased business value by collaborating with cross-functional teams through descriptive, diagnostic, and inferential analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
- Manage the personalization data roadmap, overseeing backlog, requirements, and prioritization to ensure effective delivery of strategic objectives.
- Lead discovery efforts for new initiatives, determining and refining business and customer value propositions.
- Work closely with technology partners to evaluate technical feasibility and data availability for new projects
- Refine and prioritize user stories to align with consumer experience requirements and business goals.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Data Science/Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Finance or related fields)
- 5+ years of experience in applying statistical methods to real world problems
- Strong experience with SQL including merging data from various sources
- Experience with visualization techniques for data analysis and presentation
- Experience with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe/Omniture Insight/Visual Sciences, Webtrends, CoreMetrics, etc.)
- Superior written, oral communication and presentation skills with experience communicating concisely and effectively with all levels of management and partners
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Marketing, Originations, and or Sales analytics experience preferred.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards
