Summary Generated by Built In

Are you a data scientist who wants to build and improve AI and data solutions with impact in a regulated environment?

In this role, you will work hands-on on data analyses and AI-driven solutions that help Compliance make better, faster and more evidence-based decisions across NN. You will be part of a small specialist team that owns its solutions end-to-end: from analysis and design to delivery, adoption and continuous improvement. If you enjoy working close to the business, solving real-world data challenges and turning complex topics into practical AI and analytics solutions, this role gives you the opportunity to apply your data science expertise in a domain where quality, explainability and trust really matter.

What you are going to do

  • Design, build and continuously improve data analyses, dashboards and AI-driven solutions that help Compliance identify risks, monitor developments and support better decision-making
  • Work hands-on with complex data, assumptions and models to create solutions that are robust, explainable and usable by Compliance colleagues in daily practice
  • Take end‑to‑end ownership of data and AI solutions, including maintenance, refactoring and reducing technical debt
  • Apply responsible AI principles throughout the solution lifecycle, including AI Act classification, AI risk assessments and control documentation
  • Translate Compliance challenges into analytical or AI solutions and bring them into production together with engineers and analysts, ensuring they remain reliable, explainable and compliant over time

What we offer you
NN invests in an inclusive, inspiring work environment and in skills and competences for the future. We match this with employee benefits that are in line with what is needed today and in the future. This way, we offer our employees the opportunity to get the best out of themselves. We offer you:

  • Salary between  €6,378 and €8,504 per month based on 36 hours depending on your knowledge and experience
  • 13th month and holiday allowance are paid with your monthly salary
  • 27 vacation days for a 5-day working week and three Diversity Days
  • A modern pension administered by BeFrank
  • Plenty of training and learning opportunities
  • NS Business Card 2nd class, which gives you unlimited travel, also privately.  Do you prefer to travel with your own transport? Then you can declare the kilometers travelled
  • Allowances for setting up your home office and for internet use

Who you are

  • You have 5 years of relevant work experience
  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Econometrics, Mathematics or a comparable quantitative or IT-focused discipline, and you are motivated to apply that background to Compliance challenges
  • You have hands-on experience with Python and with building, deploying and operating ML or AI applications. Experience with LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, data preparation and deployment helps you contribute across the full data science lifecycle
  • You like taking end-to-end ownership of data and AI solutions: bringing them into production, improving them over time, reducing technical debt and monitoring behaviour, performance and risks
  • You are familiar with modern software engineering practices, such as working with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure), version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines, to build and operate solutions in a structured and maintainable way
  • You work closely with Compliance colleagues and end users to turn open questions into working solutions. You combine analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication, an open attitude and a result-oriented way of working

Who you will work with
You will be part of the Domain Data & Digital: a small specialist domain that focuses on data analysis, dashboarding, automation and AI solutions for the second line. The team works closely together with other domains in Compliance, such as Compliance Risk Management, Conduct, Financial Economic Crime and Products, and takes end-to-end ownership of the solutions it builds and maintains.
Together, you turn compliance challenges into practical data and AI solutions that are used in daily work.

You will also work closely with IT teams, data engineers and analytics colleagues across NN to ensure that solutions are technically robust, scalable and maintainable. The solutions you build are used within the Compliance domains.

You will work in an environment where data and AI are becoming a structural part of how Compliance operates. The focus is on ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement, with room to shape future-ready solutions.

You will also be an active member of the Data Science & AI guild, a community of around 100 Data Scientists and AI Engineers across NN. Here, you contribute to knowledge sharing, define best practices, and collaborate on advancing AI standards across the organisation.
