A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a senior data scientist at MKS Ophir, you will partner with the Beam Profiling R&D group to design and implement algorithms for the characterization of laser beams. In this role, you will report to the Systems Design Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
• Developing and refining beam measurement algorithms
• Evaluating new technologies and components
• Translating algorithms and implementation of international standards into code
• Simulating a physics/imaging/optical concept in MATLAB, Python or equivalent environment
• Using numerical calculation methods efficiently
• Coding numerical analysis algorithms smartly in C#
Skills You Bring:
• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or PhD degree or equivalent experience in Software, Applied Mathematics, Physics or Electro-optics
• 5 years of related experience
• Proficiency with MATLAB or Python/Numpy or similar tool
• Proficiency in C# programming
• Proven communication skills
• Fluency in English
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
Preferred Skills:
• 3 years of experience in a corporate environment
• Experience in real-time/embedded systems
• Analysis of optical system performance
• Modeling using the Finite Element Method
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90% of the time
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
• This job operates in a professional office environment
