Join us as a Data Scientist
We’re looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our dynamic Data & Analytics team for a 12-month secondment opportunity. This is a unique chance to work across both our innovative embedded finance (BaaS) products and our Mettle platform, contributing to our mission to provide seamless, secure, and scalable financial experiences.
As a Data Scientist, you’ll play a key role in supporting data-informed decision-making and helping to develop data-driven solutions. You’ll work with the latest data visualisation and dashboarding tools to help bring insights to life. You’ll also have the opportunity to get hands-on with emerging AI technologies, and work closely with teams like Product, Operations and Marketing to deliver insights that support our product and customer goals.
What you’ll do- Conduct data exploration and analysis to better understand customer behaviour and support product and business strategies
- Create dashboards and visualisations that clearly communicate insights using modern analytics tools
- Write clean, well-documented SQL and Python code to support data transformations and modelling (experience with DBT is a plus)
- Work closely with data engineers, product managers and operations analysts to deliver insights and build reusable analytics frameworks
- Contribute to projects that explore the use of AI technologies to improve customer experiences and business outcomes
- Support the development and implementation of machine learning models in partnership with senior data scientists
- Help monitor product performance and contribute to the development of core business metrics and app analytics
- Learn from and collaborate with experienced team members, and contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
- Data analytics experience: You’re comfortable working with data to support decision-making—using metrics, diagnostic analysis, experimentation, and (where appropriate) machine learning
- MI & Reporting expertise: You have experience creating and maintaining management information (MI) reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery of critical business insights
- Technical expertise: Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with a strong understanding of data modelling. Familiarity with DBT is a bonus. Experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable
- Understanding of Digital Operations tools such as Zendesk, Intercom: You’re familiar with how customer support platforms like Zendesk or Intercom work, and how data from these tools can be used to analyse user issues, track operational efficiency, and generate insights that improve customer experience
- Curiosity and growth mindset: You’re eager to learn and develop in a fast-paced fintech environment and enjoy working across a wide range of challenges
- Communication: You’re able to present data and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
