The position 

We are looking for a Data Science Lead (staff level) to join the Enterprise Data Science Group - a senior, hands-on technical leader who thrives on tackling complex problems, owning solutions end-to-end, leading projects, and shaping how machine learning and AI drive business value at scale.

This role offers a rare combination of diverse data, hard ML and AI challenges, and leadership. You’ll work closely with experienced data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, work on challenging problems, and see the direct impact of your work in production.

Highlights: 

• Be a hands-on lead of ML/AI projects across business lines with rich data and many challenging, high-impact use cases. Examples of projects include recommender systems, agentic workflows, RAG systems, and LLM pipelines. 

• Coach and develop a team of top data scientists and AI engineers in Europe (remote), while gradually growing the team with new projects – potentially hiring locally, aligning product and business stakeholders on goals and KPIs, presenting vision and roadmaps, and communicating progress. 

• Best of both worlds: Guide your small team of direct reports towards pushing the bar of accuracy while contributing hands-on towards ensuring product stability, reliable deployment, and continuous monitoring. 

• We are a medium-size team (approx. 20 people) where people have great relationships, working collectively and with colleagues abroad to impact a multi-billion dollar business. 

• Opportunity to be part of a strong, fun, and collaborative team culture. 

We are looking for: 

• 2+ years of managerial or tech lead experience. 

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning, including leading projects and communicating their value. 

• Experience deploying production-level code in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, etc.) 

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG systems, and agentic AI architectures.

• Great coding skills and engineering practices. 

• An entrepreneurial mentality; excited to work with product and business teams to identify new opportunities, plan, and lead their development. 

• Excellent communication skills in English. 

• An MSc degree (PhD advantage) in computer science, mathematics, or another STEM field. 

• Experience managing or working with international colleagues – advantage.
