Data Science Internship (Graduate - Summer)

Position Purpose:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Science Intern to join our team. As an intern, you will be paired with a senior data scientist and embedded within an agile scrum team, where you will collaborate on real-world tasks and an internship project. You will be involved in building predictive models, including large language models, and contribute to the team’s efforts using tools like Python, R, and SQL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside senior data scientists on tasks related to predictive modeling and large language models.
• Write and optimize code in Python to support data analysis and model development.
• Collaborate with the scrum team on daily stand-ups and sprint deliverables.
• Contribute to the development and deployment of data-driven solutions.
• Take ownership of an assigned internship project with guidance and mentorship.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Physics, Computational Biology, Economics, Sociology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python and R.
• Familiarity with SQL for data manipulation and querying.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an agile environment.
• Interest in predictive modeling, machine learning, and data science methodologies.

Potential for Full-Time or Part-Time Hiring: Depending on performance and proximity to graduation, there may be opportunities for part-time or full-time employment post-internship.

Experience/Experience: Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university or college, preferably in a field related to the hiring department through the internship period.

Pay Rate: $18-25
