Program structure:
- Duration/Schedule: full-time during the summer months, part time during the school year
- Hybrid flexibility: 1-2 days a week in the office
- Start Date: May 2025
What we're looking for:
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Math, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Some exposure in R or Python, and familiarity with SQL
- Comfort and understanding of some major chart/data visualization types and situations where each is needed
- Relentless curiosity, able to dig deeper after finding surface-level answers
- Desire to grow and improve, develop new skills, learn new software
- Creativity in problem-solving
- Interest in Supply Chain or Manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Preferred experience:
- High-level competency in R/Python
- High-level competency in SQL
- APICS certified
- Database query and report building skills i.e. SQL, R, Python, SAS
What you'll focus on:
- Assist and learn from Data Science Team leaders, and others
- Learn to understand business problems and deliver robust analysis
- Create informative, insightful, clear, and concise visualization in service of storytelling
- Complete independent projects and assist the Charter Steel Data Science team with projects vital to company success.
