Data Science Intern (Undergraduate - Summer)

You could be the one who changes everything for our 28 million members as an Intern at Centene. During this 12-week program, you'll learn more about Centene and how we're transforming the health of the community, one person at a time.
 

We are looking for a highly motivated Data Science Intern to join our Machine Learning and AI team. As an intern, you will work closely with one of our experienced data scientists, contributing to data analysis tasks and possibly helping to enhance or build upon existing machine learning models. This is a math and data-focused role that will give you hands-on experience working with cutting-edge AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the data science team on data analysis and processing tasks.
• Assist in improving or building machine learning models.
• Apply statistical and mathematical techniques to solve data-driven problems.
• Collaborate on model evaluation, optimization, and data preparation.
• Utilize Python for data manipulation, modeling, and analysis tasks.
• Support team members in various aspects of machine learning and AI projects.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic background in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with data science libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn).
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methods.
• Experience or coursework in machine learning and AI is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively to the team.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for data science.

Pay Rate: $18-25
