Job Summary:

Socure is the leading provider of digital identity verification and fraud prevention solutions, leveraging AI and machine learning to power the most accurate identity trust decisions. Our mission is to eliminate identity fraud and ensure online trust across industries.

We are seeking a Data Science Intern to join our team for Summer 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for students passionate about data science, machine learning, and AI to gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies and real-world datasets in a fast-growing, mission-driven company.

Job Responsibilities:

• Research and prototype machine learning models for document understanding, OCR enhancement, or fraud detection.

• Work with large-scale identity document datasets to build robust computer vision systems.

• Apply and experiment with architectures such as CNNs, Transformers, and LLMs for tasks like document parsing and fraud detection.

• Analyze model performance, conduct error analysis, and suggest improvements.

• Collaborate with engineers in an agile, fast-paced environment.

• Present research findings, progress updates, and results to the broader team.

Job Requirements:

• Background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical field

• Solid understanding of deep learning and computer vision concepts.

• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following:

  • CNN architectures (e.g., ResNet, EfficientNet)

  • Vision Transformers (e.g., ViT, Swin)

  • OCR and document understanding models (e.g., LayoutLM, Donut)

  • Multimodal or LLM-based models

• Proficient in Python, with experience in PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.

• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).

      Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing Master’s or PhD in a relevant field

• Experience in fraud detection, anomaly detection, or adversarial machine learning.

• Exposure to noisy, real-world image data and domain adaptation techniques.

• Publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences or contributions to open-source projects.
