As part of the ESA team you will have the following responsibilities:
- Support the requirement definition of data-driven solutions together with stakeholders, AI System Engineers and Digital Innovation engineers;
- Contribute to the gathering of data from various sources, cleaning it, and transforming it into a usable format ensuring data quality, consistency, and availability;
- Support exploratory data analysis to understand the data and identify patterns, trends, and anomalies gaining insights and forming hypotheses;
- Participate to the build of predictive models selecting appropriate algorithms, training models on historical data, and validating their performance;
- Support the implementation of machine learning algorithms automating decision-making processes including tasks such as image processing, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance;
- Contribute to the creation of visual representations of data, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to make the data more understandable for communicating insights to stakeholders;
- Contribute to technology development and work plans for ESA's technology programmes related to data science;
- Contribute to the capture of knowledge related to the development and use of information factories and support its dissemination.
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- Masters Degree in Data Science or Computer Science;
- At least 4 years hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques, as well as data science methodologies.
- Familiarity with applying AI and data science approaches to areas such as engineering analysis, mission optimization, and decision support systems.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
