The Role

Overview of the Role

The Data & Reporting Specialist is a key member of a team of data professionals responsible for establishing and driving the successful adoption of the data governance program in Manulife’s Global WAM segment.  They will bring together their technical expertise, business knowledge and communications skills to enable deployment of Data Governance (DG) in GWAM.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the establishment Global WAM’s data governance program, including Frameworks, Policies, Processes, and Tools

  • Analyze and monitor data quality reports to help identify systemic issues and resolution options

  • Assist with growing data quality and data governance awareness using effective and innovative communications tactics across Global WAM

  • Collaborate with all groups within the Chief Data Office to ensure alignment across data functions and on target delivery of the group’s goals

  • Support the development of Data Governance processes such as metadata management, data access and data sharing

  • Support the coordination of executive-level Data Council meetings

Requirements: 

  • Highly analytical with strong consulting and problem-solving abilities; tenacity to identify the root cause of problems and apply innovative approaches to tackle business data problems

  • Ability to bridge the business and technology world, effectively collaborating across teams to achieve desired outcomes

  • Champion of change to effectively manage the implementation of new insights / improvements

  • Confident when dealing with investment professionals, senior management and other stakeholders

  • Ability to explore, learn, and deploy innovative approaches and tools to support change, communications, and training activities

  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Technical Skills, such as knowledge, of SQL required to perform data analysis

Working Arrangement

Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between

$61,350.00 CAD - $102,250.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
