Let’s start with the role:

The Data Protection Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s data handling practices comply with Brazilian data protection regulations, such as the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). This role involves monitoring data security, implementing data protection policies, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance within the online gaming industry.



As an Data Protection Specialist, you will: 

  • Advise departments on the various data protection related risks, obligations, and other privacy issues;
  • Perform evaluation/ due diligence of third party service providers and ensure DPA's are in place with data processors, as well as implementing adequate measures of protection as regards international data transfers; 
  • Provide consultation to local business units on data protection issues;
  • Collaborate closely with the Group Data Protection Officer, legal, and IS teams to implement the data protection management system designed by the DPO office;
  • Collect information to identify processing activities and analyze compliance of such processing activities, coordinate the documentation of records of processing activities and assist local stakeholders with documenting and updating their processes;
  • Enhance awareness and perform and monitor training to employees regarding general and specific data protection topics;
  • Respond to data subjects requests, track the volume of requests and ensure responses are submitted in a timely manner, according to legal obligations;
  • Perform periodical reviews on technical and organizational measures, assess information security measures and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures in cooperation with the local and central IS teams;
  • Communicate with supervisory authority in case of data breaches, act as the principal contact for data breaches within local business and liaise with the operations regarding customer communication; 
  • Stay up-to-date on compliance with applicable local legislation in the assigned jurisdiction and communicate significant changes to the local data protection team/assigned person; 
  • Support privacy-related projects driven by the Group DPO; 
  • Cultivate a privacy-driven culture, focusing on a proactive approach.

 


What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in Data Protection or a relevant role (compliance, IS, tech compliance, audit), preferably in the online gambling sector, or in a multinational environment. ; 
  • Certifications/training from the EU or internationally recognized organizations in Data Protection, IS/Compliance will be considered an asset;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is a must;
  • A strong understanding of regulations applicable to the relevant business,, particularly new and upcoming regulations in all applicable jurisdictions;
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards;
  • Project management skills;
  • Independent, goal-oriented, and systematic approach of working;
  • Attention to detail and ability to demonstrate an analytical mind;
  • Clear and concise verbal and written skills;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills;
