Your Responsibilities as a Data Product Manager

  • You work with the business teams to take fact-based and data-driven decisions on impactful topics. This typically includes the following activities:
  • As a Data Product Manager you contribute to shaping data products to meet stakeholder needs and help manage the data product roadmap with a focus on value creation.
  • You translate business needs into clear dataset designs. This involves analyzing and mapping data from sources, ensuring quality through validations, setting up structural checks, visualizing overarching data flows, and preparing documentation to support our data engineers.
  • You build constructive partnerships with business stakeholders to support them in understanding essential data concepts and encourage data-driven decision-making.
  • You collaborate with IT applications stakeholders and architects to ensure data requirements are well captured in the applications we source from.
  • You act as a data ambassador by sharing knowledge, practices, and updates about new or improved datasets with the broader data community.
  • You report to and closely collaborate with the Product Owner, aligning on roadmaps and providing input for backlog prioritization.

Our Ideal Data Product Manager

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Business Engineering, Applied Economics, Computer Sciences, Information Management…) or equivalent by experience
  • Around 2–5 years of experience in a data analyst, functional analyst, business insights, business intelligence or similar role
  • Able to connect different data needs and business processes and help translate these into sustainable data solutions
  • Hands-on experience with requirements gathering, functional analysis, and data modelling
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and explain concepts clearly
  • Good understanding of data flows & design
  • Solid knowledge of SQL is a must
  • Familiarity with Cloud technologies (Snowflake is a plus)
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business & data
  • Attention to customer experience
  • Fluent in English, Dutch or French is a plus.
  • Experience working in an Agile organization
