Position: Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Specialist (Senior)
Position Location: Remote /Joint Base Andrews
Position Description:
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Specialist acts as the primary quality and testing authority for data products, bridging the gap between the engineering team and data consumers. Develops and executes test plans for data pipelines, APIs, and data products to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to requirements. Performs functional testing from a consumer's perspective, validating that data is discoverable in the ACDC catalog, accessible via the APIs, and matches the documented metadata. Acts as the primary quality and testing authority for data products, bridging the gap between the engineering team and data consumers. This position is remote, must be able to attend occasional meetings at Joint Base Andrews.
Required Experience:
- Strong user-level experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman), data catalog interfaces (ACDC), and data validation techniques. Familiarity with SQL and scripting languages (like Python) for data analysis and validation is essential.
- Quality Assurance: Experience in data quality assurance, software testing, and writing technical documentation
- Analytical Skills: A strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand data from both a technical and a mission-user perspective.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively translate consumer needs into technical feedback for the development team
- Serves as a member of the "Enabling Team," acting as a data mesh advocate who supports the adoption of the DME by helping consumers find, understand, and use data products.
- Creates and maintains user-facing documentation, tutorials, and "getting started" guides for data consumers
- Gathers feedback from early adopters and mission partners to create a feedback loop that drives continuous improvement for the data products and the platform itself.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams
Education:
- 10 years of experience with MA/MA degree or equivalent experience
- Security Clearance: SECRET - With ability to acquire TS/SCI
Skills Required
- 10 years of experience with a master's degree or equivalent experience
- Strong user-level experience with API testing tools such as Postman
- Experience with ACDC data catalog interfaces
