If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the role of Director, Data Architecture, in the Data and Analytics function for Global Pet Nutrition (PN) at Mars.

 

Pet Nutrition (PN) is the most vibrant category in the FMCG sector. As we work to transform this exciting category, a new program, Digital First, has been mobilised by the Mars Pet Nutrition (PN) leadership team. Digital First places pet parents at the centre of all we do in Mars PN, while digitalising a wide range of business process areas, and creating future fit capabilities to achieve ambitious targets in top line growth, earnings, and pet parent centricity. The Digital First agenda requires Digitising at scale and requires you to demonstrate significant thought leadership, quality decision making, deep technical know-how, and an ability to navigate complex business challenges while building and leading a team of world class data and analytics practitioners.

 

Pet Nutrition is the most vibrant category in FMCG, and the Digital First program reimagines how we serve pet parents worldwide. As part of this transformation, PN is shifting to a product-based operating model to deliver business-facing digital capabilities at scale.

 

In this role, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of core data products that power PN’s digital ecosystem. This is a high-impact leadership position with global accountability, reporting into the Sr. Director - Data Foundations and sitting on the Global PN Data Foundation leadership team.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in implementing end-to-end digital tools for Pricing, Customer & Trade Promotion (C&TP) or Media Spend Optimisation processes.

  • Hands-on expertise with systems such as: Trade Promotion Management (TPM), Trade Promotion Optimisation (TPO) & Media Spend Optimiser

  • Ability to integrate these tools into business workflows to drive efficiency and ROI.

  • Strong understanding of pricing strategies, trade spend analytics, and digital transformation in commercial functions.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams for successful deployment and adoption.

  • Knowledge of data-driven decision-making and performance measurement for promotional investment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mars Principles: Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.

  • Data Product Strategy & Vision: Define and own the strategic vision, roadmap, and value realisation for PN’s Data Products supporting Digital First priorities. Act as the voice of the business for the data product portfolio, balancing short-term needs with long-term scalability

  • Data Product Development & Lifecycle Management: Lead end-to-end development, prioritisation, and delivery of data products (customer, pet, product, sales, supply chain, marketing datasets, etc.). Define and manage product backlogs, user stories, and delivery roadmaps in collaboration with data engineering, analytics, and digital teams. Ensure products meet data quality, governance, privacy, and compliance standards. Establish clear KPIs to measure product performance and business impact

  • Leadership & resource Management: Lead data product implementation and be line of one -Orchestrate cross-functional teams, including Platform, governance, ingestion, data engineers, and architects, to deliver data products on time and within budget.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management: Build strong partnerships with PN Business Units, Digital, and Analytics teams globally to identify data product needs and opportunities. Collaborate cross-segment (Mars Wrigley, Mars Food, Royal Canin) to drive harmonisation and leverage reusable data assets. Drive adoption and usage of data products across the organization.

  • Team and resource management: Hire, build, lead and manage multi locational teams covering data, architecture, data modelling, and governance throughout the development lifecycle, from ideation to ongoing optimisation. Manage budget allocation.

  • Performance Monitoring: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement monitoring systems for deployed data architecture principles to ensure efficient D&A operations
