Data Privacy Engineer


Colibri Group is seeking a data privacy engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the protection and security of sensitive information within Colibri Group and subsidiaries. The job involves implementing and maintaining data privacy policies, procedures, and technologies to safeguard data against unauthorized access, breaches, and misuse.


What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement an effective and compliant data privacy program including privacy governance documentation (policies, guidance, and training materials, etc.), privacy risk assessments, and other tools in collaboration with Security Operations and Legal departments.
  • Implement and maintain suitable processes and procedures for the data privacy program designed to support compliance including sub-processor list maintenance, supporting privacy incident response, employee and appropriate training.
  • Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify vulnerabilities related to data privacy including performing and maintaining data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Implement, audit and continually improve processes and procedures to ensure data privacy compliance while keeping abreast of new regulations, cybercrime software and tools, and effective safeguards.
  • Work with software and systems architects to integrate privacy measures into the design and development of applications and systems to help mitigate privacy vulnerabilities and prevent potential future privacy risks.
  • Work with stakeholders across the company to assess data processing use and compliance.
  • Lead the creation of data maps to understand how and where sensitive information is stored, processed, and transmitted and assist with the creation organizational and departmental data flows diagrams.
  • Review technical implementation details and design documentation for new systems and features to ensure compliance with company policy and identified regulatory requirements, while giving guidance on improving privacy features in those systems.
  • Manage inquiries and issues related to data privacy and security practices, including but not limited to responding to requests from data subjects and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure Record of Processing Activities is maintained.
  • Manage third-party vendors data security risk assessments to ensure compliance with data privacy requirements.
  • Manage extensive, complex privacy initiatives and keep an eye on reviews of worldwide programs and activities for data protection.
  • Ensure that the sub-processors list is properly maintained, and continuously updated with appropriate internal and external notification processes and procedures.
  • Provide specialized assistance to the Legal department in the review of data security requirements within contracts and DPAs.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Expertise in EU and US-based data privacy and security laws and practices preferably as it relates to data aggregators and marketing use of data.
  • Familiarity with CCPA and GDPR.
  • Familiarity with a privacy management platform.
  • Familiarity with OneTrust’s DPIA, Data Mapping, Privacy Rights Automation, and Consent preferred.
  • Familiarity with Data Privacy Addendums and Schedules preferred
  • CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with PIPL, DPDPA, and other regulations preferred.
  • Demonstrable independence, self-motivation, professionalism, and proactivity, along with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
  • Highly organized with the ability to research and communicate complex topics with diverse stakeholders and manage diverse projects.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word or other technology to facilitate communicating complex information to stakeholders, manage personal workload, and track projects.
