Barnes & Thornburg LLP is searching for a Data Privacy and AI Associate. The Associate will ideally have 1-3 years of relevant data privacy experience, and will work with a wide range of clients to analyze and mitigate risks related to the collection, storage, distribution and use of data. The Associate will focus on privacy counseling and guidance, review and drafting of data retention policies, data privacy and data processing agreements, incident response plans, incident reports and breach notifications, and will also assist with data breach response matters. They will also handle artificial intelligence (AI) matters and will keep current with state and federal privacy /AI laws and cybersecurity regulations.
Candidates:
Should ideally have at least one year of data privacy, data protection and/or data security experience
Must have a demonstrated interest in the field, including CIPP certification
Ideally will have some AI experience
Ideally will have some experience with incident response and data breach matters
Must have a solid academic record, strong legal research and writing skills, and keen attention to detail
Must have strong interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and show initiative
Must be active and admitted to the local state bar or eligible to waive in
