Hello. We’re Teya.

Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.

They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.

Teya exists to change that.

We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.

We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.

If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you

The Role

As a Data Privacy & AI Governance Senior Analyst, you'll help ensure our compliance with data privacy regulations and support the growth of a new AI Governance function guiding Teya's implementation of AI and compliance with emerging AI regulation.

You'll join a supportive, friendly team spanning Data Privacy, Data Management, Data Governance, and AI Governance, working closely with the Head of Data Privacy & AI Governance and cross-functional stakeholders across the business. We're looking for a doer — someone who brings experience, a keenness to learn, and enjoys solving problems that span multiple disciplines. As an AI-first function, you'll be at the forefront of reinventing ways of working using AI.

What You'll Own
  • Own the day-to-day privacy processes such as RoPA, DPIA, and DSRs.

  • Administer systems that we use, such as OneTrust and Jira.

  • Drive the operational rollout and governance of AI-enabled technology platforms.

  • Provide advice and guidance to the business on data protection, privacy by design, cookie and marketing consents, and AI-related questions and risks.

  • Codify guidance and provide general and role-based training and awareness activities to develop understanding of privacy and AI literacy.

  • Identify opportunities and develop efficiencies to improve privacy operations and automate privacy processes.

  • Work closely with global cross-functional stakeholders to support team projects and goals.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Procurement, Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Risk and Compliance to balance privacy and business objectives.

  • Conduct re-assessments of high- and medium-risk personal data processing activities.

  • Support the review, assessment and negotiation of Data Protection Agreements.

What We're Looking for

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in data privacy and/or data governance, in an in-house role or in a consulting capacity.

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify workflow improvements.

  • Experience working on cross-functional projects.

  • Experience suited to owning the development and improvement of frameworks, policies and procedures.

  • Ability to distil complex issues into guidance appropriate for the audience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Knowledge of global privacy regulations and compliance standards.

  • A collaborative and team-focused nature.

  • Demonstrable skills relating to process definition, design and implementation across people, process and technology.

Desired:

  • Experience with technologies such as OneTrust and Jira.

  • Certification in privacy law or management (e.g., IAPP CIPP-E, CIPM).

  • Certification in AI Governance (e.g., IAPP AIGP).

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple requests with differing priorities.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across business functions and work as part of diverse teams.

  • Experience in the technology or fintech industry.

  • Experience consistent with a consulting or in-house role.

  • Experience of enabling high velocity in a heavily regulated environment.

We recognise that given the breadth and multi-disciplinary nature of the Data Privacy and AI Governance sphere, it's unlikely that a candidate will cover all the essential and preferred requirements. We're keen to hear from individuals who hold much of the experience, with the interest and attitude to develop in other areas, and who can complement and add to the current skills and experience in
