Summary:
As a Microsoft Azure Data Architect, you will be responsible for defining, designing, and governing enterprise data architectures on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will lead architecture strategy across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, data governance, security, scalability, and performance standards. Your role includes owning end-to-end data architecture decisions, guiding delivery teams on best practices, reviewing technical designs, and ensuring consistent implementation of Azure data standards. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, enterprise architects, and delivery leads while mentoring teams and driving data platform maturity.
Roles & Responsibilities: -
Act as the Azure Data Architecture Lead and SME across programs and projects.
Analyze business, data, and non-functional requirements and translate them into enterprise Azure data architecture designs.
Design end-to-end data platforms and solutions using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL.
Define and govern data ingestion, integration, storage, and curation architectures for batch and near real-time use cases.
Establish and enforce enterprise data modeling standards, including dimensional, relational, and analytical models.
Define data governance, metadata, lineage, and quality strategies aligned with Azure best practices.
Ensure data security and compliance through RBAC, encryption, network controls, and auditing mechanisms.
Review architecture designs, code, and deployments to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
Drive scalability planning, performance optimization, and cost control for Azure data platforms.
Collaborate with enterprise architects, cloud infrastructure, security teams, and business stakeholders on critical decisions.
Mentor team leads and senior engineers conduct design reviews and enable architectural best practices.
Provide architectural oversight during production incidents, root cause analysis, and platform improvements.

Strong hands-on and architectural experience with Microsoft Azure Data Platform, including:
o Azure Data Factory for orchestration and integration

Strong working knowledge of Spark architecture, PySpark, and distributed data processing frameworks.
Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture concepts, data warehousing, and analytical modeling patterns.
Experience designing secure, scalable, and governed cloud data platforms.
Strong knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance within Azure ecosystems.
Experience defining CI/CD, data deployment, and environment management strategies.
Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs across flexibility, performance, cost, and maintainability
Advanced expertise in SQL for data modeling, analytics, and performance tuning.
