Job Description:
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data platforms that support enterprise-level warehousing, analytics and reporting. Leveraging your deep expertise in ETL technologies, Azure cloud services, and Snowflake, you will architect robust data pipelines, ensure data quality, and enable seamless data integration across systems. You will collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-performance, cost-effective data solutions that align with organizational goals. Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, promoting best practices, and driving continuous improvement in data engineering standards and platform reliability.
Your Core Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end distributed data pipelines to support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows.
Build scalable, modular, and efficient data transformation to optimize enterprise level data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes using modern ETL frameworks and cloud-native tools.
Architect and administer Snowflake data warehouses, including performance tuning, resource management, and security configurations.
Design and develop scalable BI solutions using Power BI or other reporting tools (Tableau, Cognos), including data modelling, transformation, visualization, and performance optimization to deliver actionable insights.
Develop and enforce data quality, data governance, and metadata management practices.
Partner with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Maintain strong documentation and adhere to SDLC and DevOps best practices.
Your Expertise
3-5+ years of Data Engineering experience required
Prior experience of working in Finance domain (Investment bank, Asset Management firm, Hedge Fund)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related engineering field required. Advanced degree preferred.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, FiveTran/Census and other ETL tools
Expertise in SQL, Python or other scripting languages
Working knowledge investment data vendors such Bloomberg, MSCI, Compustat, Worldscope, I/B/E/S, FTSE/Russell, IDC and other similar datasets
Understanding of Investment Management data domains including Security Masters, Reference data, Indexes, Positions (IBOR, ABOR, trades), Performance and Analytics across different asset classes
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
Comfort working in cross-functional settings with business and tech teams
Experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core (MVC + Web API), Entity Framework, SQL Server, JavaScript, Service-Oriented Architecture, Web APIs, Frontend frameworks a plus
