Als Data Platform Engineer (d/m/w) arbeiten Sie in einem international aufgestellten, agilen Team im Bereich Data & Analytics der Privatkundenbank in Deutschland. Sie entwickeln die strategische Datenplattform auf Basis der Google Cloud Platform (GCP) weiter und stellen Daten für operative und analytische Anwendungszwecke bereit.

Ihr Schwerpunkt liegt auf Data Platform Engineering sowie der Entwicklung und dem Betrieb von ETL-/ELT-Datenpipelines. Dabei arbeiten Sie mit verschiedenen Google-Cloud-Komponenten und gestalten Lösungen für die Integration, Modellierung und Transformation von Daten. Gleichzeitig tragen Sie zur Weiterentwicklung der technischen Ausrichtung der Datenplattform und zur Cloud-Strategie der Deutschen Bank bei.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Sie entwickeln als Data Platform Engineer aktiv Lösungen für unsere cloudbasierte Datenplattform und übernehmen Coding-Aufgaben innerhalb eines agilen Scrum-Teams.
• Sie entwickeln und betreiben zuverlässige Datenlösungen, integrieren unterschiedliche Datenquellen und stellen Daten per Batch- sowie Near-Realtime-Verarbeitung bereit.
• Sie modellieren und transformieren Daten, damit diese für unterschiedliche operative und analytische Anwendungszwecke genutzt werden können.
• Sie übernehmen neben der Entwicklung auch Aufgaben rund um Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Plattformbetrieb und Infrastrukturkomponenten auf der Google Cloud Platform (DevOps Ansatz).
• Sie gestalten die technische Ausrichtung des Teams mit und bringen Ihre praktische Entwicklungsexpertise aktiv in die Weiterentwicklung der Datenplattform ein.
• Sie unterstützen weniger erfahrene Teammitglieder, führen Code Reviews durch und tragen durch die enge Zusammenarbeit im Team zur kontinuierlichen Weiterentwicklung der Entwicklungsarbeit bei.

Ihre Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen

• Sie bringen mehrere Jahre praktische Erfahrung in der Anwendungsentwicklung mit Java und/oder Python mit.
• Sie verfügen über Projekterfahrung mit der Google Cloud Platform und relevanten GCP Services wie Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Composer, Dataproc oder Dataflow.
• Sie kennen IaaS-/PaaS-Deployments mit Infrastructure-as-Code-Tools wie Terraform sowie CI/CD mit Git, GitHub Actions oder vergleichbaren Deployment-Methoden.
• Sie verfügen über praktische Kenntnisse in Datenmodellierung und Datenbanksystemen, einschließlich relationaler Datenbanken sowie idealerweise Document und Key Value Stores.
• Sie bringen Erfahrung mit Data Warehouses sowie der Extraktion, Transformation und Bereitstellung von Daten über ETL-/ELT-Prozesse im Unternehmensumfeld mit.
• Sie beherrschen die Datenverarbeitung mit SQL und verfügen über Erfahrung mit Data-Pipeline-Technologien wie Apache Spark, Apache Beam oder Apache Airflow.
• Sie nutzen KI-Tools nachweislich effektiv, um Produktivität zu erhöhen, Prozesse zu optimieren und Geschäftsprobleme zu lösen. Dabei treffen Sie fundierte Entscheidungen und gewährleisten einen verantwortungsvollen sowie gewissenhaften Umgang mit Daten und KI-Ergebnissen.

Details of the role and how it fits into the team

As member of the internationally staffed, agile teams of the OneDP-DE, you will be part of the "TDI PB Germany Data & Analytics”. Focus will be on data platform engineering using GCP components and developing ETL pipelines in our data platform to ensure that necessary data is provided for operational and analytical purposes.

OneDP-DE is the new, strategic data platform of the Private Bank in Germany and uses the Google Cloud Platform as a basis. With Google as a close partner, we are following Deutsche Bank's cloud strategy with the aim of transferring a significant proportion of today's on-prem applications to the Google Cloud Platform or building new ones there.

Your key responsibilities

• You will be Data Platform Engineer, involved in active Coding in our Scrum Team
• Develop and operate fast and reliable solutions for our data platform together with your team. This includes mainly the implementation of connections of different data sources to load data via batch or near/realtime into the data platform as well as the modeling and transformation of data to use it for different application purposes
• In in addition to developer activities, you will also be involved with IaaS and platform operations and will help maintain the infrastructure components of the platform on the GCP (DevOps approach)
• You contribute to defining technical direction of the team while being actively involved in the development.
• In the growing department, you will act as a role model for junior staff, conduct code reviews and help create an attractive environment for the team

Your skills and experiences

• Several years of practical experience in developing applications using Java and/or Python
• Experience with projects in the Google Cloud Platform using core GCP services (e.g., Cloud Run, BigQuery, PubSub, Composer, Dataproc, Dataflow)
• Experience with IaaS/PaaS deployment using IaC tools like Terraform, as well as CI/CD using Git and Github Actions or other deployment methods
• Hands-on knowledge of data modeling and database systems, including relational databases, preferably including Document and Key Value Stores
• Experience in data extraction, transformation and loading (ELT/ETL) for data warehouses in enterprise context
• Broad knowledge of data processing via SQL, as well as experience in using data pipeline tools (Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Apache Airflow, etc.)

• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
