Data Platform Architect 

IQVIA is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Data Office as a member of a dedicated three-person team supporting the Data Platform Architecture Pillar. This position will focus on critical initiatives within our Center of Excellence (CoE) for Data Platforms, with a central mandate to reduce friction in deploying and operating data platforms. The role will directly contribute to the implementation of strategies defined by the Data Platform Architecture Pillar, ensuring our platforms are robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives. 
 
 

Primary Goals And Objectives  

  • Reduce time, cost, and complexity associated with deploying and operating data platforms across IQVIA 

  • Ensure all data platform initiatives align with enterprise architecture standards and strategies 

  • Promote and enforce use of standardized deployment patterns, templates, and operational best practices 

  • Enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing between data platform stakeholders 

  • Drive continuous process improvements to increase platform reliability, performance, and user satisfaction 

Role Responsibilities  

  • Support the Data Platform Architecture Pillar by operationalizing platform strategies and architectural patterns 

  • Organize and facilitate activities in the Center of Excellence for data platforms, acting as a subject matter expert and key contributor 

  • Identify and address points of friction in platform deployment and operations, recommending and implementing effective solutions 

  • Collaborate with platform engineering and platform management to align platform solutions with organizational requirements 

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of platform deployment frameworks, automation scripts, and operational playbooks 

  • Monitor platform performance and provide guidance on operational best practices 

  • Document, share, and promote standards, templates, and reusable assets developed by the Center of Excellence 

  • Assist in evaluating and integrating new data platform technologies, tools, and services 

  • Provide training and support to platform users and other internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth adoption and usage 

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by collecting feedback and leveraging lessons learned to refine processes and standards 

  • Meet with data platform vendors to understand their roadmap and discuss gaps in feature sets that are needed to meet IQVIA’s requirements 

Key Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred 

  • 3+ years of experience in data platform engineering, architecture, or operations 

  • Strong foundational knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architecture patterns (data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, data estates, etc.) 

  • Experience in deploying, supporting, and operating scalable, secure, and high-availability data platforms 

  • Strong communication skills for documenting solutions and collaborating across technical and non-technical teams 

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for operational excellence and process improvement 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop actionable solutions 

  • Proficiency with scripting, automation tools, and infrastructure-as-code technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, BiCep) 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and platform monitoring tools 

  • Experience working in a Center of Excellence or similar shared service environment is an asset

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is 217 300,00 zł - 461 700,00 zł. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
