Data Path Engineering Manager

This positions is Hybrid out of Vancouver, BC

Position Summary
In this role you, will manage a team of ETL specialists responsible for extracting and normalizing plain text data from 100+ external data sources into structured database entries. You will architect and optimize our data integration strategies, mentor team members, and ensure the scalability and reliability of our Data Path ETL platform. You will work hands-on with the Gateway product (a sophisticated C++ ETL engine configured via JSON) while also setting technical direction, establishing best practices, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to enhance our data processing capabilities.

Essential Functions

• Lead and mentor a team of specialists, fostering their technical growth and career development
• Architect and optimize ETL strategies across multiple external data sources
• Establish coding standards, documentation practices, and quality assurance processes
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define requirements and roadmap
• Design and implement automation solutions to improve data integration efficiency
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert guidance to the team
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure scalability
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
• Manage project timelines and coordinate with stakeholders across the organization

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL, or related technical roles
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring technical teams
• Expertise with databases (SQL, NoSQL, and Cloud platforms)
• Strong experience with ETL processes and database integration
• Proficiency with MongoDB and other database technologies
• Experience with source control systems, particularly git
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Track record of driving technical projects from conception to completion

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C++ or similar systems programming languages
• Background in cybersecurity or security data analysis
• Experience with JSON-based configuration systems
• Familiarity with data transformation frameworks and tools
• Background in agile development methodologies

Total Target Cash (TTC) Range 118,377.21 - 157,996.89 - 197,496.11 CAD Annual
