Role Summary

As a Production Support Engineer your role will ensure an active monitoring, ticket/issue handling , request fulfillment & proactive communication. Your role also provides technical input for an onshore-offshore development team building hybrid applications in an on-premise and cloud environment. This will require you to maintain high site uptime/data availability while embracing rapid change and growth. This role requires technical knowledge, adaptability, great customer service, hands on execution as well as a strong drive for maintaining the application availability and resiliency. Responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze data related production issues and provide sound resolutions or a path forward to be resolved by the development team 

  • Knowledge of Python and SQL to support On-premises & Cloud (GCP) applications & processes.

  • Coordinate with various teams and help resolve service desk tickets for all issues, analyze root cause and assist in efficient resolution of all production processes

  • Coordinate with IT groups and internal Business Units to ensure effective application services to ensure reliability of all applications

  • Knowledge of Control and or Cloud Composer 

  • Analyze all business processes and ensure compliance to all controlled processes according to business requirements

  • Will create a healthy maintenance cycle for existing solutions to ensure they are up to date and leverage full solutions

  • Properly communicate both written and verbally all issues and resolution actions

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all Relationship Manager and provide support as needed

  • Maintain logs of all issues and ensure resolutions according to quality assurance tests for all production processes

  • Utilize available performance improvements tools to offer suggestions that will increase system and application functionality

  • Retrofitted automated Alerts and Monitoring for critical applications to create Incident tickets in the ticketing system tool and to display on the Executive DashBoard

  • Must show flexible enough to learn any tools/technology when needed

  • The ability to provide Continuous improvement or automation resolutions is a plus

Skills/technical knowledge

  • 3+ years of strong Production support background using Cloud & on-premise technologies & applications

  • Have good understanding of Change Management or release management

  • Knowledge of SQL and PLSQL with the ability to write and understand queries

  • Good understanding or proficiency in scripting languages such as Python

  • Must have knowledge on Windows command familiarity and scripting (Powershell)

  • Experience with any scheduling tools, with preference given to those familiar with CTM or Cloud Composer (Airflow)

  • Very good knowledge on scripting using Python & UNIX Shell scripting

  • Good understanding on Cloud based services like Composer, Bigquery, cloud Storage, networking, Cloud Run, SQL & Pub/Sub

  • Should be capable of writing SQL queries for debugging, coding, and support tasks

  • Must have good understanding on SDLC life cycle

  • Good understanding on Code repo management, branching strategy, Version controlling using GITHUB, VSTS & Teamforge etc

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demand

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; should be able to collaborate across business teams (stakeholders) and other technology groups as needed.

  • Exposure to Payments industry is a plus

Knowledge of below skills is a huge plus:

  • Advanced scripting skills in Python

  • Expertise in other BI tools like MSTR

  • A good understanding of the payment domain

  • Basics in AI/ML.

Minimum Qualification

Minimum 3 years of relevant Prod support experience.

Software Engineering, Information Systems or other Technical degree; additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered
