Clear, transform, and model data
- Write and update queries using SQL and MongoDB to 1) Extract and transform data from raw data into usable data structures (tables, super tables, data models, visualizations) for analyses 2) Integrate data across tables and multiple systems, and 3) Compute new variables
- Build, maintain, and update tables and back-ups to support reporting
- Troubleshoot errors with data models and tables
- Recommend best practices and provide technical advice about data management (storage, security, privacy, cleaning, transforming)
- Ensure data accuracy
Liaison between OLI and Product teams
- Communicate and interface with PDE (Product, Design, and Engineering) team
- Describe OLI problems and collaborate on solutions
- Help to design and improve the overall systems environment and integration ecosystem
- Serve as a subject matter expert on key integrations, such as survey integration
- Consult on the development of processes for automating data imports from external data sources into the data warehouse
Create processes and documentation to ensure data quality

- Create technical documentation for data sources, computations, status, updates, etc.
- Develop processes to identify and resolve data inconsistencies and errors, including those that reduce merging and human error in data entry

- Build OLI team capacity in the construction of efficient and effective PowerBI dashboards
- Build dashboards in PowerBI to support sense-making across various teams within the organization
General support
- Provide other analytic support for iMentor’s Organizational Learning and Impact Team as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience creating reusable data products, and building and managing data integrations
- with relational databases and data warehouses. Preferably within an education, non-profit or public
- sector context. Or a Master’s degree with 3-4 years of such experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or mathematics OR equivalent training and
- certification.
- Expert proficiency with SQL and PowerBI. Proficiency with MongoDB, Python, and R a bonus.
- Advanced knowledge of data modeling techniques, data transformation tools, and relational
- databases. Experience building and troubleshooting APIs a bonus.
- Experience integrating and normalizing multiple data sources, managing identity resolution, and
- tracking data lineage.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and collaborative mindset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Curiosity, initiative, and creative reasoning – including strong motivation to engage in self-directed
- learning to solve problems.
- Preference for candidates who have had experience building integrations in the context of smaller
- teams with limited resources.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary $95,000 - $105,000 annually commensurate with experience.
