Data Modeler
Are you passionate about data modeling and development?
This role encompasses both hands-on data modeling and the architectural guidance necessary to develop robust data warehouse solutions. You will be instrumental in designing data structures that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis for business intelligence, ultimately empowering data-driven decisions across the organization. A key responsibility will be the efficient design and development of our cloud data warehouse.
We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative and social purposes.

What you’ll do:
- Design and develop scalable and flexible conceptual, logical, and physical data models optimized for data warehousing on cloud platforms.
- Lead technical discussions on data modeling and data warehouse architecture, contributing to key architectural decisions.
- Design and implement end-to-end data warehouse architectures that align with business objectives and data requirements.
- Optimize data models and database designs for performance, ensuring efficient data processing and querying within the data warehousing environment.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data architects, and data engineers, to understand and translate business needs into effective data warehousing solutions.
- Take ownership of the design and development of our cloud data warehouse, ensuring its efficiency and scalability.
- Develop and maintain essential documentation, including playbooks, business rules, data dictionaries, and data lineage models.
What we need:
- 5+ years of experience as a data warehouse designer utilizing platforms such as Snowflake or Azure Synapse.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge in data mapping, data transformation processes, and SQL, with a proven ability to implement physical and relational data models for data warehouse solutions.
- Proficiency in industry-standard data modeling tools and techniques (e.g. SAP power designer, ER/studio, erwin, UML, dimensional modeling, etc.).
- Practical experience with metadata management concepts and related tools.
- Expert-level understanding and experience with a modern data technology stack, such as microsoft azure (azure data lake storage, azure data factory, azure streams, databricks).

Annualized base pay range
$105,000.00 - $115,000.00There is a bonus component attached to this role in addition to the base salaryStarting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
