The Role

Execute successful conversion or migration of data from one system or format to another

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing data structures and formats in source systems to understand data complexities and dependencies

  • Assess data quality and identify potential issues that may arise during the conversion or migration process

  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and system owners to define data conversion and migration requirements

  • Develop detailed conversion or migration plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and contingency measures

  • Execute data conversion or migration processes according to the defined plan and monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data accuracy and completeness

  • Document all aspects of the data conversion/migration process, including procedures, scripts, and validation results

  • Work with end-users to address concerns, optimize data in the new environment, and provide support for any post-migration data-related issues

Qualifications

  • Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 2 years of data migration or conversion experience

  • At least 1 year of experience with healthcare information system or electronic health records.

  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to identify data quality issues and inconsistencies

  • Skills in analyzing source data structures and content

Preferred

  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, or PowerShell)

  • Experience with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM)

  • Proficiency in at least one ETL-specific languages or frameworks (e.g., PL/SQL, SSIS expressions)

  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, or SSIS)

Expectations

  • Position may at times require extended or irregular hours outside of traditional office hours to support clients and projects across multiple time zones and any required travel.
