ROLE SUMMARY
The Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecules (PSSM) group is part of Pfizer's Research & Development (PRD) business unit and is responsible for developing the active pharmaceutical ingredient s, formulations & manufacturing processes needed to transform laboratory candidates into potential new medicines . The Data & Digital Innovation team (DDI) is part of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecule (PSSM) with a mission to t ransform the way scientific, operational and process information related to the design, development and clinical manufacturing of products is collected, stored, accessed, reported, and analyzed through innovative solutions that leverage state of the art digital technologies .
PSSM's digital transformation journey will require a diverse portfolio of data & digital skills and technologies. In addition, multiple projects will need to be executed simultaneously across all the groups in PSSM to result in a multiplier impact. This role will be a key contributor to the DDI Center of Excellence (CoE) in Chennai, India.
Information is the backbone of our work. From the time we generate data to the time we analyze data to make decisions, data goes through a series of transformations across multiple systems and documents. Our scientists require easy access to high fidelity, curated data for deeper analysis. Th is role will be responsible for organizing, managing, publishing and maintaining curated data assets to support the needs of our scientists.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize, publish and maintain data assets while ensuring data accuracy, completeness and consistency of data assets
  • Create and publish curated data through reference data sources for downstream analytics and modeling use cases
  • Establish clear linkage between curated data and original source data to provide transparency
  • Develop broad knowledge of PSSM structured and unstructured data and information sources
  • Perform data entry , data validation tasks and a ssist with data analysis and quality checks
  • Maintain and update metadata to provide context and clarity to data
  • Manage the extraction, cleaning and packaging of datasets for PSSM customers
  • Track requests and identify common themes for data needs in PSSM
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in alignment with organizational goals


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor 's degree in finance , Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Science or similar field of study with 5 + years of related pharmaceutical systems experience OR
  • Master's degree in finance , Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Science or similar field of study with 3 + years of related pharmaceutical systems experience
  • Strong awareness / experience with programming languages, data and digital technologies and infrastructure like cloud platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information.
  • Expert k nowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or other data management tools
  • Expertise in SQL or other database languages
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with AWS Glue and AWS Redshift
  • Familiarity with R or python programming
  • K nowledge of the FAIR principles


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical research and development processes
  • Experience with data curation or data management
