The role
We are looking for a Data Engineer / Junior Data Management Specialist to help design, manage, and operate our Data Warehouse and related data management systems.
The ideal candidate has a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field, and a solid foundation in SQL databases, Python, and ETL processes.
We’re seeking someone eager to grow their expertise in data systems, with strong analytical thinking and a collaborative mindset to deliver data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and optimisation of the company’s data warehouse and automated data management systems.
- Perform SQL-based data analysis and design data marts and ETL processes, ensuring quality, performance, and security.
- Collaborate closely with BI specialists and Data Scientists to deliver accurate, high-quality data.
- Support the generation of insights and recommendations from data to inform business decisions.
- Conduct thorough testing of developed components before release.

- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
- Ability to design and execute test cases for software and data analysis.
- Good knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, and database querying.
- Some experience with Python (or other data analysis languages).
- Understanding of ETL architectures and relational databases.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with curiosity and a proactive attitude.
- Foundational knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and data lifecycle management.
- Basic familiarity with Unix shell scripting.
- Good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

- Exposure to cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS S3).
- Familiarity with streaming data ingestion (e.g., Kafka).
- Interest in machine learning or AI models and algorithms.
