As a Vice President in the Chief Data Office within the Corporate & Investment Bank, you will lead the Data Use Team focused on risk management and strategic data initiatives. You will collaborate with firm-wide groups and LOBs to implement new strategic developments and ensure compliance with policy and standard requirements. This role offers a high-profile opportunity to showcase your skills and contribute to the firm's data-driven advancements.
Partner with senior executives and cross-functional teams to manage data use cases globally. You will refine processes, implement standards, and promote a culture of data protection and strategic use. Your expertise will drive efficiency gains and support the firm's data governance framework.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead case management duties and operate the governance process for data use cases globally.
- Support the strategic vision of enabling data use while protecting data as an asset.
- Facilitate the management of the CIB Data Use Council, including meeting calendar, materials, and actions.
- Create and manage project plans, task lists, and presentations; coordinate cross-functional team requirements.
- Engage with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Cyber, and Tech Controls to establish guardrails for data use.
- Build and maintain an inventory of data use across the firm and third parties.
- Implement standards and protocols for data use within the CIB; embed a risk-based framework for case escalation.
- Manage partner relationships and interactions with senior executives.
- Work on multiple projects and use cases simultaneously.
- Refine processes for data use identification, review, and decisioning for efficiency gains.
- Partner closely with Analytics & Data Science, Business Managers, Operations, and Technology to deliver data use awareness training.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:
- 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on data governance.
- Experience managing performance of small to medium-sized teams.
- Ability to interact and work effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to execute via successful internal partnerships.
- Effective communicator with excellent written communication skills.
- Experience navigating and mobilizing resources across a large organization.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks.
- Strong risk awareness and control mindset.
- Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to execute tasks under aggressive targets and manage changes in planning.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:
- Strong data governance, data quality, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of CIB products and processes is a plus.
- Desire to create structure for data and drive results.
- Strong data analysis, data management, and problem-solving skills.
