Data Management Consultants work directly with business leaders, data governance stakeholders, subject matter experts, and other technology professionals to lead projects and initiatives related to improving the value and protection of data. Applies desired data and technology outcomes to recommend, design, document and participate in testing and implementation of solutions. The scope of this work involves one or more of the following data management disciplines: reference data management, data protection, data stewardship, master data management, data platform management, data strategy or data enablement and capabilities. Participates in the creation of business specifications and contributes to and approves system specifications aligned with business requirements and needs. Provides input into cost estimations and project plans. Prepares and maintains business and technical documentation including flow charts, models, policies and procedures, user guides, scorecards and reporting, to assist with the ongoing operation and maintenance of data and technology solutions. Assigned to complex projects, systems or initiatives as they relate to ongoing organization data management, governance and digital transformation needs. Data Management Consultants lead efforts, oversee work results, provide training, and serve as resources for Data Management Analysts and other resources.
What You Will Be Doing
- Analyzes and documents business and technical requirements, identifies impacted areas, systems and processes, and evaluates alternative solutions
- Researches and assists in designing solutions for general and project-related requests to resolve, policy, system and data-related problems
- Contributes to the creation and review of detailed system requirements and supports the business in the design and implementation of functional design solutions for new and enhanced products and functionalities
- Provides oversight and final review of design specification
- Leads efforts to identify and evaluate alternative solutions
- Takes the initiative to seek out areas of improvement
- Demonstrates leadership through ensuring progress against goals, providing timely reporting to management, and offering solutions to issues as they arise
- Leads analysis and execution of highly complex data management and governance-related and technology-focused projects and initiatives
- Act as a mentor, providing coaching and guidance and reviewing the work of analysts and business partners
- Oversees the design of data and technology artifacts produced by other team members to ensure the necessary design considerations are made and aligned to business needs
- Contributes to determination of system components and functional flow of / between components
- Ensures adherence to practices, standards, policies and procedures
- Leads and participates in test execution for various data and technology components and data transformations / migrations
- Influences business, technology and analytics stakeholders, being instrumental in driving decisions while proposing solutions built on a value proposition
What We Require
6+ years related work experience in data management, data governance, data protection, information governance, information security, database development or modeling, application development, systems analysis, data analytics, technology architecture, data architecture, business architecture, data science, or combination of transferable experience and education
Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT, Data or Analytics field
Thorough knowledge of Information Technology systems supporting data management
Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of integration points, processes, data, and technology of assigned business area or domain
Proven leadership abilities, including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness, and display of appropriate levels of assertiveness
Proficient in business, data and technology requirement-gathering methodologies and the software development life cycle (SDLC )
Ability to understand a variety of data and technology architecture standards, including those for 'big data,' and ability to apply them in solutioning, design and testing work
Ability to communicate highly-complex data and technology information clearly and articulately for all levels and audiences
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
Extensive knowledge and experience of data-focused systems, subsystems, development methodologies, systems architecture, tools and processes that support the assigned business initiative or system
Experience in applying research methodologies to business solutions
Knowledge of database and systems development concepts and methods
Experience with business requirements and business process analysis to ensure data and technology solutions meet business needs
Experience managing multiple priorities, and ability to facilitate adoption of changing priorities
Thorough industry knowledge in a related business area and understanding of the impact on the organization
Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to cultivate relationships

Typical Annualized Offer/Hiring Range: $100,400 - $125,500
Annualized Salary Range: $100,400 - $163,200
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
